Presidential Visit to IT Sligo

The President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, accompanied by her husband, Dr Martin McAleese,
visited IT Sligo on the 5th October 2010 to mark the Institute’s 40th anniversary
and to officially inaugurate the Yeats library Building.

Hundreds of invited guests and students awaiting the arrival of the Presidential entourage basked in autumnal sunlight that radiated through the three story glass-fronted atrium protecting them from a sharp October wind were happily entertained by the military band of the Western Command.
