NAMA to invest €2bn in economy

Nama is today unveiling proposals to invest €2bn in the economy over the next four years.

An ambitious programme which it is hoped could create up to 35,000 jobs around the country is being unveiled this morning.

Chairman of the National Asset Management Agency Frank Daly is unveiling this plan at an event in Galway this morning.

The €2bn being invested would be targeted towards completing construction work that is already in progress and developing greenfield sites between now and 2016.

It is envisaged that the work would cover supply shortages in some areas of the market that could arise in the future.

Nama hopes the programme they are putting forward could get 25,000 people working in construction, and generate a further 10,000 jobs in the wider economy.
