Join The Fun Palace in Sligo!

The annual, free, worldwide celebration of arts, science and culture comes to Sligo for the first time. Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo will join 150+ Fun Palaces expected to pop up globally on Saturday 1st October.

Inspired by celebrated theatre director Joan Littlewood and architect Cedric Price’s never-built vision for a Fun Palace, Fun Palaces are created by and for local people, bringing communities together with arts, science and cultural activities for all to enjoy for free, celebrating the genius in everyone – everyone an artist, everyone a scientist.

Events already confirmed for Sligo Fun Palace include: 'An Introduction to All-Grain Brewing', Mexican Day Of The Dead, Facepainting for adults, printing workshop, and an introduction to Invasive Aliens!

Do you have an idea for an activity, experiment, performance, workshop, talk, launch, conversation? Do you want to be creative and make something with others? If yes, the Hawk’s Well theatre would love to hear more about what you might like to learn or about what you may like to create. Register your idea or interest by e-mail Sligo@hawkswell.com

Fun Palaces create events that bring together arts and sciences – but above all people – to work together, create together, have fun together, and in doing so, build our own communities, from the grassroots up.
