Sligo-based company Recruitment and HR Services Group Collins McNicholas was shortlisted for its work over the past three years with Pieta House.
Pieta House provides a free, therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress or engaging in self harm.Collins McNicholas has spent the last three years engaged in a number of fundraising activities for the charity – from hosting table quizzes and coffee mornings to raising €15,000 in a series of charity runs.
For this work, it was shortlisted for the ‘Excellence in CSR by an SME’ at the Chambers Ireland Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards.
The 13th annual CSR Awards was held in the Double Tree Hilton, Dublin on September 1 and was attended by representatives from over 30 companies, which were shortlisted for awards across 10 categories.
“Collins McNicholas was delighted to have been shortlisted for this award and for the chance to highlight the work that is being done by Pieta House,” said Managing Director Niall Murray. “We look forward to continuing our association with Pieta House into the future.”Pieta House has been in existence for the past ten years when it first opened its doors in Lucan, Co Dublin. Since then, it has seen and helped more than 20,000 people in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm.
It now has nine centres across Ireland, four of which are in Dublin and the others in Limerick, Cork, Tipperary, Galway and Kerry.
Pieta House employs 180 people and its goal is to have a support centre within 100km of every person in Ireland.
