A Sligo man has been charged with a vicious stabbing of a middle-aged couple in a bar at the weekend. Several gardaí attended the blood splattered scene.The couple were attacked in The Crozon Inn, Crozon Downs, Sligo in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The injured pair were taken to Sligo University Hospital where their condition has been described as 'non life-threatening'. Gardaí made the arrest shortly after the incident.
The accused, Padraig McMorrow (48) with an address at Caltragh, Sligo was brought from Ballymote Garda Station where he had been detained to appear at a sitting of Donegal District Court yesterday, Monday where he was charged with the offences.
He was represented by solicitor Tom Mc Sharry and remanded on bail (€300) with conditions to appear this Thursday at Sligo District Court. He was also granted free legal aid at the request of his solicitor.The charges, assault causing harm to Michael Harte and Patrica McMorrow at the Crozon Inn with possession of a knife where outlined to the Court by Sergeant John Walsh.
The accused must sign on daily at Sligo Garda Station and have no contact with the victims of the assault. He must stay out of he Crozon Inn and other pubs and obey a curfew from 9pm -7am.
