Sligo Tidy Towns are very pleased with the response to their ‘Love Where You Live’
Anti-Litter and Anti-Gum (ALAG) competition, part sponsored by the Department of the Environment and administered by Sligo County Council on their behalf. In all, twenty-three estates participated, making the task of selecting the eventual winners even more difficult.
All of the estates showed diligence in keeping litter to a minimum, the level of casual litter was much less than in In reviewing this competition over the previous month.
One distinguishing feature of this competition is that there is no financial cost involved, as all the emphasis is on the work of each Resident’s Association and their volunteers. The winners for September are as follows
1st Place was awarded to Jinks Avenue, 2nd Place to Aylesbury Park and 3rd Place to Innisfree Court.
As this competition is now closed for 2016 Sligo Tidy Towns thanks all the estates who entered each month and look forward to seeing many more compete next year.
