Tesco colleagues Ryan Martin and Bob Feeney from the Sligo store were two of the big winners at the 2016 Tesco Ireland Values Awards. Ryan and Rob took home the coveted trophy for ‘Tesco Mobile Phone Shop Colleague of the Year’.
This category recognises colleagues who deliver a fantastic service to our Tesco Mobile customers and who are great advocates and brand ambassadors for Tesco. This is the fifth year of the Tesco Ireland Values Awards, which took place at a special ceremony in the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Co. Dublin on Thursday, 10th November.
Voted for by Tesco colleagues countrywide, the awards recognise excellence amongst the retailers 14,500 strong workforce across 11 different categories including Colleague of the Year, Store Manager of the Year and Team of the Year, among others. Customers were also invited to nominate for someone they felt went that extra mile in the categories Service Superstar and DotCom Colleague of the Year.
Ryan and Bob were nominated for this award for consistently delivering excellent customer service and sales advice to existing and new Tesco Mobile customers. They both have very infectious personalities and if we talk about taking pride in a product, they really do. Regular customers have developed a real trust in these two colleagues to look after them and their needs- the numerous customer comments says it all.
Geraldine Casey, People and IT Director, Tesco Ireland said “We are always amazed at the lengths our colleagues go to, to try and make a small difference to a customers’ day, and these awards give us an opportunity to celebrate these exceptional contributions, as recognised by the colleagues that they work with every day. We couldn’t do what we do without their commitment, dedication and passion and they represent just a small portion of the thousands of our fantastic colleagues countrywide that go above and beyond in their local communities each day”.
RTE’s Brian Ormond was on hand to MC the ceremony and to present the awards to the winners for their notable contributions to communities across Ireland, and over 350 Tesco employees were in attendance to celebrate their success.
