MAJOR WORKS:SLIGO AREA:
As part of the O’Connell Street Watermain and Sewer Rehabilitation Works being undertaken by Irish Water, O’Connell Street remains closed to vehicular traffic from Monday, September 5th until Wednesday, November 30th.
A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works which will include facilitating deliveries between 8 a.m. and 12 noon, Monday to Saturday. Diversions will be in place via Lower John Street, Adelaide Street and Wine Street.
Road surfacing will be taking place during the coming week on Lower John Street and Lower Knox Street as part of the O’Connell Street works. Traffic management and local diversions will be necessary to facilitate this work. Timing of this work will be coordinated in an effort to minimise traffic disruption. N4 Dual Carriageway
Maintenance works will commence on the N4 Sligo - Collooney dual carriageway on Tuesday 15th November. Works will consist of
· The repair of damaged/broken crash barriers at various locations along the route and
· Drainage improvement works along the central median and hard shoulder of the N4 dual carriageway.
It is anticipated that the works will last approximately 3 weeks, during which time extensive traffic management systems will be in operation. The dual carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for much of this time. Motorists are urged to proceed with caution through the works. STRANDHILL AREA
Lecarrow Strandhill L-3509-0/R292
Drainage works will commence on Thursday 17th November. The works will involve the installation of a storm water pipe in the roadway (L-3509). It is anticipated that the works will last approximately 2 weeks. A traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of the works.NORTH SLIGO
Essential repair works are being carried out on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland at Castlegal Bridge, Glencar on the N16 National Primary Road. Traffic Management will be in place with delays expected. Works are expected to last for several weeks.ENNISCRONE
Works continue on the N59 Pavement Overlay Scheme between the village of Dromore West and the townland of Templeboy. Traffic Management will be in place with delays expected. Works are expected to last for a further week.TUBBERCURRY AREA:
Footpath construction works will commence along the N17 at Circular Road, Tubbercurry. Traffic control will be in operation with minor delays expected. Works are expected to last 1 week.
Pipelaying works will continue next week on Local Roads in the Killavil area. There will also be some works on the R294. Traffic Management will be in place and minor delays can be expected. It is anticipated that these works will be completed in 1 week.BALLYMOTE AREA:
Works will commence on the installation of a pedestrian crossing on the R293-Lord Edward St. in Ballymote. Traffic control will be in operation with minimal delays expected. Works are expected to last 3 weeks.
Road L 5403 closed at Cams Bridge, (approximately 150m from the Cams/Kilmorgan crossroad) for the next four weeks due to urgent bridge repair works. Alternative route via L5402 and N4 to Ardloy /L5403 junction. Traffic Management will be in place.
Pipelaying works continuing along a 400m stretch of the Castlebaldwin Road leading out of Ballymote and along a 4km stretch of the R295 from Ballymote towards Boyle. Traffic Management is in place and minor delays are expected. It is anticipated that all works will be completed by end November, 2016.ROAD SIGNAGE WORKS:
Works will also continue on The R297 and R298 between Dromore West and Enniscrone

Hoarding has been erected at the corner of Lord Edward Street and Union Street. Provision has been made for pedestrian access and works are expected to last several weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
A Scaffolding licence has been granted for 15 The Mall, Sligo. Works are expected to last 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
A Scaffolding licence has been granted for 5 Burton Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last 1 week. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade. Minimal traffic disruption expected.ENNISCRONE AREA:
Drainage works will continue in Carrowteane/Derk . Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.
Drainage works will continue in Pullaheeney. A temporary road closure will be in place. Diversions via Rathlee.
Wall repairs will continue on the Cliff Rd Enniscrone. A Temporary road closure will be in place. Diversions via Pier Rd.
Bridge repairs will continue in Grangemore, Templeboy, a temporary road closure will be in place, local access will be provided.
Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.TUBBERCURRY AREA:
