Work begins on new Ballymote pedestrian crossing

Cathoirleach of Ballymote-Tubbercurry Municipal District Cllr Dara Mulvey has welcomed the works starting on the  pedestrian crossing in Ballymote.

Cllr Mulvey said, "Work has started on a the new safe pedestrian crossing outside the Post Office in Ballymote.

"This is an issue I have highlighted on numerous occasions at Sligo County Council meetings since I was elected in 2009 and I am delighted to confirm that following meetings with the engineering staff work has now commenced.

"During these works it will be necessary to temporarily re-locate the existing casual traders to Emmett Street.

"As part of the works casual trading bays will be lined in Lord Edward Street and Emmett Street. Minor delays can be expected during construction," concluded Cllr Mulvey.
