Simon Coveney is due to visit Sligo later today, Thursday.
The Minister for Local Government and Housing will officially launch the Cranmore Regeneration Masterplan tonight.
It is anticipated the Minister may also visit O'Connell Street, recently closed for two months.
During the closure Irish Water engaged in a multi million upgrade.
Unfinished work on that project is scheduled to resume in the New Year.The masterplan launch by Minister Coveney will take place at 6.30pm in a marquee erected on green space in Cranmore.
The minister will be welcomed by the Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Cllr Hubert Keany, the CEO Ciarán Hayes and the Director of the Regeneration project.Community Groups to Showcase at Launch include:
Cranmore Co-op, Drugs Taskforce, Youth City, Craft Crafters, Abbeyquarter Community Centre, Friendship Group, Womens Group, Active Age, Senior Citizens, Monday Morning Club, Sewing Club, Resource House Project, 4 Age Friendly Group, Boxing, Bowls and other sports activities. Focus Ireland, Clúid Housing Association, Abbeyquarter Mens Group and Boat Building.
