Babestation 'ambassadors' for Westport apology

Minister Michael Ring hopes the arrival of two sexy babes to a Mayo town will help phone sex line users to stop accidentally calling residents.

Babestation is being forced to send two sultry ambassadors to Westport following complaints from locals over unintentional calls to houses in the area.

Regional Development Minister Michael Ring told the Irish Sun: “If they want to do that business (sex lines) I have no problem with it. Let them off.

“But their number should be 1,2,3, 4 and not tie into any code in Ireland.

“What happens is when the guys have a few drinks on them they don’t see the UK codes and then the next thing they are ringing innocent families in Westport.”

It turns out that when customers seeking some hot phone action fail to put the international dialling code to Babestation’s numbers, they dial through to Westport instead.

'Professional Bodies'

A spokesman for the company said: “It is Babestation’s understanding, through both the recent media coverage, and contact with a number of professional bodies, that there may have been unintentional calls made to residents of Westport.

“Babestation recognise this as an innocent misunderstanding and they are extremely aware that disappointed callers in Ireland, whose intention it was to speak to one of the Babestation girls, may have inadvertently reached homes on the west coast of Ireland.

“They also recognise the impact that this has had on those that may have received these calls, and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

“Babestation are keen to stress, and will continue to do so publicly, that when dialling a UK number, the ‘0’ should be replaced by ’00 44’.”

They added: “As a show of support and recognition, Babestation, and two of their models, will be visiting Westport today, Thursday, at around 2pm to speak to residents and local people.”

Minister Ring has welcomed the move by Babestation but said they need to fix the problem.

He explained: “Well let them come anyways and let them apologise to the people.

“But I don’t want an apology I want them to fix the problem and take that 098 number off.

“I’m very annoyed about this but I am pleased they are sending down somebody.

“But better than that what they can do to really show they are sorry is to take the 098 off it altogether.

“Let them get another number that doesn’t upset and disturb people in Westport.”
