foodstore in Castle Street may be about to have a new look.
The proposal was received last week by Sligo County Council from Castlepeter Limited.
The planners were asked for permission ''to renovate the existing shopfront and relocate the existing entrance doors.''
Companies Registration Office (CRO) records say that the named company may also trade as Filan's Centra.
Sligo County Council website states that a decision is due by March 30th next.
The store is successfully operated by Finnbarr Filan, pictured below, on a site which was his family home.
Castle Street may also shortly have a new coffee shop in a premises which has been closed for some time.
Salmon Bridge Limited proposes a lower ground floor coffee shop in the old ESB premises.
This would involve a change of use for 170 square metres, and include passenger lifts.
Situated on the corner of Castle Street with Thomas Street, the development would also have an entrance from Rockwood Parade.
Other innovations for the site would include external seating, said its planning resume.
