Housing minister and Fine Gael leadership contender Simon Coveney TD last week dropped by to see Sligo’s brand new co-working space, The Building Block.
The Fine Gael TD was given a tour of the four-storey facility on Friday by The Building Block’s co-founders Denise Rushe and John Monahan.
Mr. Coveney was impressed by the development and its new facilities and spent time chatting with Building Block tenants, who began moving in last month. The building, on the Garavogue river in Sligo town centre, could eventually house up to 200 workers across a variety of businesses.
Also in attendance on Friday was Sligo County Council Chief Executive Mr. Ciaran Hayes, Mr. John Nugent, the North West director of IDA Ireland and Mr. Brendan McCormack, president of IT Sligo.
Mr. Coveney, the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government, was in Sligo to launch the Northern and Western Regional Assembly’s Consultation on the National Planning Framework 'Ireland 2040 - Our Plan'.
