from car parking kept a local church's finances in a healthy state last year.
But now the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is to put squeeze on the taxman for more money.
Revenue Commissioners refunded a healthy €48,000 last year to the Cathedral.
This rebate money came from parishioners who are also PAYE taxpayers. The details were contained in a weekend letter to Massgoers from Cathedral Administrator, Canon Tom Hever.
Parishioners who haven't yet joined the PAYE refund heard an appeal at weekend Masses to do so.
All organisations, including local charities, who have a CHY number are eligible for the rebates and refunds from Revenue.
Certain thresholds of payments by PAYE must be met to qualify.
