Progress on the upgrade of Tubberycurry Garda Station has been highlighted by the by the Chairman of Tubbercurry- Ballymote Municipal District, Cllr Dara Mulvey.
Speaking this week, Cllr Mulvey welcomed the confirmation that he received from the Minister for Justice and Equality Frances Fitzgerald that Garda management will now engage further with the Office of Public Works (OPW) with a view to identifying the priority works that could be undertaken to enhance the facilities of the Garda station at Tubbercurry.
The Coolaney-based councillor told Sligo Today
, "It has also been confirmed to me that in late 2016, the OPW carried out a cost assessment of the works required to provide additional accommodation and facilities at the Garda station in Tubbercurry.
"I will now be working with the Minister for Justice and Equality Frances Fitzgerald and the Minister for the OPW Seán Canney on a timeframe for these works."
