Eight people have been safely rescued after a boat overturned in the Atlantic off the coast of Sligo.
The Sligo Bay lifeboat was tasked and rescued seven members of the boat who got caught in a heavy swell as they were about to go diving.
Rescue 118 was called off from the search at Blacksod Bay, for the missing crew members of Rescue 116, the Sikorsky helicopter which crashed into the sea on Tuesday morning.RTÉ
reports that one person is being treated for serious injuries at Sligo University Hospital after the incident.
One other person suffered minor injuries.
The mayday alarm was raised at 11.30am this morning, Sunday, when the boat got into difficulty off Aughris Head at Skreen, between Enniscrone and Sligo.
Ambulances arrived at the pier at Aughris Head to attend to the divers.Full story in Monday's early edition.
