Sligo Road and Traffic Report - Monday 20 March

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:


Works will take place on the R-287-0 at Carrowroe Hill (between Carrowroe Retail park roundabout and Carrowroe Roundabout). The works will consist of footpath realignment and upgrade. The works are envisaged to last 2 weeks. A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the works.

N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin Road Project

Ground Investigation works are taking place along the N4 Sligo/Dublin national primary road from the N4/N17 Toberbride roundabout to approximately 1.0km south of Castlebaldwin Village. These works consist of

·    Slit trenches across the road network
·    Rotary coreholes
·    Trial pits
·    Dynamic probing

The works are expected to be ongoing until mid March during which time various traffic management systems will be in operation along the N4 and the adjacent local road network. Motorists are urged to proceed with caution through the works. Minor delays expected.

Roadworks will continue in Cliffoney village on the N15 National Primary Road.  Traffic management will be in operation and delays may be expected. Motorists to exercise caution.

Surface water drainage works continuing on Local Road L-7403, Barnarobin, Drumcliffe.  Traffic management will be in operation. Motorists should exercise caution

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Drainage works continues on the N59 at Abbeytown/Corhowanagh.  Stop-Go system will be in place. Minor delays are expected.  Works are expected to last two weeks.

Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 at Carnaree. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Bridge repair works will commence on the R294 at Annagh Bridge, Tubbercurry. Traffic control will be in operation with minor delays expected.  Works are expected to last 2 weeks.


MINOR WORKS:

SLIGO CITY AREA:


Hoarding has been erected at the corner of Lord Edward Street and Union Street. Provision has been made for pedestrian access and works are expected to last several weeks.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Hoarding to be erected on Wine St. in front of the Gaiety Cinema on Monday the 20th March, 2017 for four weeks. Provision for pedestrian access will be provided. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

A Scaffolding licence has been granted for Connolly Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Works will take place on the entrance to The Fairgreen, Temple Street.  These are expected to last 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

Drainage works are to continue in Ballycummin. A temporary road closure will be in place. (local access will be provided)

Footpath repairs will continue on Main Street, Coolaney. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Road repairs will be carried out on the Cliff road, Enniscrone. A temporary road closure will be in place with diversions on the Burma Rd and Pier Rd. (Local access will be provided)

Road repairs will be carried out on the Carrowhubbock road. A temporary road closure will be in place with diversions on the Carrowhubbock/R297 Junction  and at the Pier Rd/Cliff rd Junction (Local access will be provided)

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
