Award-winning Irish playwright Henry Martin seeks real love stories for his next play, My Irish Love Song, which will premiere in 2018. Stories can be any length and submitted on myirishlovesong.wordpress.com until August 2017.
Henry Martin: “My Irish Love Song is
a celebration of love, music and being Irish. The world is very divided
right now and the news is full of stories of woe. I hope My Irish Love Song will
be an antidote to this and remind us that more unites us than divides
us. There is nothing more universal than love and music, and theatre is a
great a way to bring people together and prove this point.”
has a love story. Some end happy. Some end sad. Some never end. This is
an opportunity for you to take time out and think about that someone or
something special, and to have it immortalized in art. All kinds of
love stories are encouraged, and no, you don’t have to have an Irish
passport to submit: this project is about being open and encouraging
shared stories, not putting up barriers.”
Stories can be submitted (anonymously, if desired) on myirishlovesong.wordpress.com. The website also includes writing tips, information on the creative team, and terms and conditions.
Martin is a writer based in Tipperary. He is currently taking part
