Resilient Rehab Care Revel in Boccia Win

The HSE Personal Supports and Training Services Sligo, in partnership with Sligo Sport and Recreation  ran a Boccia Tournament recently in the Knocknarea Arena IT Sligo for a fifth year running.  The HSE Personal Supports and Training Service the 2016 Cup holders were challenged to retain their title.

A total of 5 agencies HSE Personal Supports and Training Srvice, Rehab care, National Learning Network, the HSE Resource Centre, and Rosses Sheltered Workshop, met and challenged each other to an exciting competition in the Knocknarea arena, Sligo IT. 

Approximatley 60 players participated and there was great fun and excitement when Rehab care progressed to the fnal to become worthy champions for 2017.  

The semi finals proved to be most exciting, when Rehab care and HSE Personal Supports and Training Service slogged it out to win a place in the final.  As one player remarked ' I love the Boccia cause I get to meet everyone again and have the cup of tea, I would not miss it'.

The HSE Personal Supports and Training Service and Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership would like to thank all the agencies involved for their collaboration and in particular would like to thank the players for making the day a memorable one. Thank you to Daniel and Ross in Knocknarea Arena for their continuing support in setting up the arena for the fifth year of the festival.

A special thanks to volunteers on the day, who were a huge support, Deirdre Cummins, Imelda O Connor, Mairead Connolly and Connor.
