Latest Sligo Road and Traffic Report

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:

Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract

Works will take place on Cleveragh Road between Cemetery Road and Cleveragh Drive (The Back Avenue). 

A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the works.

Works will take place on the R-287-0 at Carrowroe Hill (between Carrowroe Retail park roundabout and Carrowroe Roundabout).

The works will consist of the completion of footpath realignment and upgrade. The works are envisaged to last 1 week. A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the works.

Road strengthening will take place on the Local roads L-7606-0 and L-7607-0 Arnasbrack/Kilross. 

The works will start on Monday 3rd April 2017 and are expected to take 3 days. A diversion will be in operation for the duration of works on site – the diversion will be via Regional road R290 – Ballygawley/Ballintogher Road and Local roads L-3605-25 and L-3605-0 – Ballygawley to Correagh Cross (Mountain Foot Road). Local access will be provided-Sligo County Council will make every effort to minimise delays and disruption

Road strengthening will take place on the Local road L-6101-18 Streamstown/Halfquarter.  The works will start on Friday 30th March and are expected to take 1 day.  A diversion will be in operation for the duration of works on site – the diversion will be the N59 and local road L-6101-0 Lisduff.

Road Improvement works will take place on the Tonnaphubble to Holywell Road on Thursday 6th of April.  The road will be blocked as a result of the works and diversions will be in place.

Road Improvement works will take place on Lower Abbey Street on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th of April.  The road will be blocked as a result of the works and local diversions will be in place.  There will be no parking available on this road for the duration of the works, and the cooperation of the residents especially is requested in this regard.

Advance notice for week commencing Monday April 10th

Road surface improvement works will take place along The Mardyke (R291, Rosses Point Road), and the western end of Finisklin Road during the week commencing Monday 10th April.  Both roads will be blocked while works are taking place, and diversions will be in place.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 at Carnaree. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:
Road strengthening works will commence on the R294 at Lough Talt on Tuesday 4th April 2017. Traffic control will be in operation with significant delays expected. Works are expected to last 2 days. A 50km/hr speed limit will be in operation within working zone.

BALLYMOTE AREA:


Road repair works will continue on the N4 at Ardloy. Traffic control will be in operation with delays expected. Works are expected to be completed by Thursday.

MINOR WORKS:

SLIGO CITY AREA:


Hoarding has been erected at the corner of Lord Edward Street and Union Street. Provision has been made for pedestrian access and works are expected to last several weeks.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Hoarding to be erected on Wine St. in front of the Gaiety Cinema on Monday the 20th March, 2017 for four weeks. Provision for pedestrian access will be provided. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Works will take place on the entrance to The Fairgreen, Temple Street.  These are expected to last 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Footpath replacement works will be taking place along The Mardyke (R291, Rosses Point Road), from Tuesday 4th April to Saturday 8th April.  Associated traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works which will result in delays at peak times in both directions.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Road restoration will be carried out on the Ladies Brea/Carrowcullen/Leharrow. A temporary road closure will be in place (local access will be provided) diversions via Lough Easkey rd and the Hungary rock.

Footpath works will be carried out on the Cliff Rd, Enniscrone. Traffic lights will be in operation, Minor delays expected.

Verge cutting will be carried out in Killanley, Corballa, Cottlestown, Bunnanilra, Rathlee and Ballycummin. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:


Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
