Sligo Road and Traffic Report - Monday 10 April

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:


    Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract

Pipe laying Works will continue to take place on Cleveragh Road and Cemetery Road. 

Pipe laying works will commence on John St from Monday the 10th April.  These works are expected to last 3 weeks.  Traffic flow will be maintained but delays can be expected.

A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of all the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the works.

Works will take place on the R-287-0 at Carrowroe Hill (between Carrowroe Retail park roundabout and Carrowroe Roundabout). The works will consist of the completion of footpath realignment and upgrade. The works are envisaged to last 1 week. A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the works.

Road strengthening will take place on the Local roads L-7606-0 and L-7607-0 Arnasbrack/Kilross.  The works will start on Monday 3rd April 2017 and are expected to take 3 days. A diversion will be in operation for the duration of works on site the diversion will be via Regional road R290 Ballygawley/Ballintogher Road and Local roads L-3605-25 and L-3605-0 Ballygawley to Correagh Cross (Mountain Foot Road). Local access will be provided-Sligo County Council will make every effort to minimise delays and disruption

Road strengthening will take place on the Local road L-6101-18 Streamstown/Halfquarter.  The works will start on Friday 30th March and are expected to take 1 day.  A diversion will be in operation for the duration of works on site the diversion will be the N59 and local road L-6101-0 Lisduff.

Road Resurfacing works will take place in Finisklin on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th of April.  The road will be blocked as a result of the works and local diversions will be in place.  There will be no parking available on this road for the duration of the works, and the cooperation of the residents especially is requested in this regard.

Road surface improvement works will take place along The Mardyke (R291, Rosses Point Road), and the western end of Finisklin Road commencing Monday 10th April.  Both roads will be blocked while works are taking place, and diversions will be in place.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 at Carnaree. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Road repair works will continue on the N4 at Ardloy. Traffic control will be in operation with delays expected. Works are expected to be completed by Thursday.

MINOR WORKS:

SLIGO CITY AREA:

Hoarding has been erected at the corner of Lord Edward Street and Union Street. Provision has been made for pedestrian access and works are expected to last several weeks.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Hoarding to be erected on Wine St. in front of the Gaiety Cinema on Monday the 20th March, 2017 for four weeks. Provision for pedestrian access will be provided. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Works will take place on the entrance to The Fairgreen, Temple Street.  These are expected to last 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Footpath replacement works will be ongoing along The Mardyke (R291, Rosses Point Road). Associated traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works which will result in delays at peak times in both directions.

ENNISCRONE AREA:


Road restoration will be carried out on the Ladies Brea/Carrowcullen/Leharrow.  A temporary road closure will be in place (local access will be provided) diversions via Lough Easkey rd and the Hungary rock.

Footpath works will be carried out on the Cliff Rd, Enniscrone. Traffic lights will be in operation, Minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:


Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
