Whyte to address Sligo's Annual 1916 Commemoration ceremony

Community and political activist Corey Whyte, will deliver the oration at this years Annual 1916 Commemoration ceremony organised by People First, which will take place at the Republican Plot in Sligo cemetery on Easter Sunday at 12 Noon.

Cllr Declan Bree will preside at the event which marks the 101st anniversary of the Easter Rising.

Mr Whyte, a native of Sligo, is Chairperson of the Connolly Forum.  Active in the campaign against the household tax and the Right2Water campaigns he played a leading role in the Marriage Equality Campaign in Sligo.  He is a member of the Unite trade union.

Those attending the commemoration ceremony are asked to assemble at Cairns Drive at 11.50. a.m. on Easter Sunday morning.
