Sligo Road and Traffic Report - 19 April

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:



Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract


Pipe laying works will continue on John St.  These works are expected to last 3 weeks.  Traffic flow will be maintained but delays can be expected.

A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of all the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the works.

N4 Dual Carriageway


Maintenance works will continue on the N4 Sligo - Collooney dual carriageway.  Works will consist of

·    Grass cutting and strimming in the central median of the Dual Carriageway
·    Verge trimming on both the North bound and South bound carriageways
·    Completion of landscape works at the Summerhill roundabout

It is anticipated that the works will last approximately 1 week, during which time extensive traffic management systems will be in operation.  The dual carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for much of this time.  Motorists are urged to proceed with caution through the works.

·    Traffic management arrangements will be in place near Summerhill College roundabout from Wednesday 19th April to facilitate roadworks in the area.  All approaches to Summerhill roundabout will be reduced to one lane and minor delays can be expected.

Works will take place on the R-287-0 at Carrowroe Hill (between Carrowroe Retail park roundabout and Carrowroe Roundabout). The works will consist of the completion of footpath realignment and upgrade. The works are envisaged to last 1 week. A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the works.

Road Resurfacing works will take place in Finisklin.  The road will be blocked as a result of the works and local diversions will be in place.  There will be no parking available on this road for the duration of the works, and the cooperation of the residents especially is requested in this regard.

Road surface improvement works will take place along The Mardyke (R291, Rosses Point Road), and the western end of Finisklin Road commencing Monday 10th April.  Both roads will be blocked while works are taking place, and diversions will be in place.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Bridge repair works will continue on the R294 at Annagh Bridge, Tubbercurry. Traffic control will be in operation with minor delays expected.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 at Carnaree. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Road repair works will continue on the N4 at Ardloy. Traffic control will be in operation with delays expected. Works are expected to be completed by Thursday.

MINOR WORKS:

SLIGO CITY AREA:

Hoarding has been erected at the corner of Lord Edward Street and Union Street. Provision has been made for pedestrian access and works are expected to last several weeks.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Hoarding to be erected on Wine St. in front of the Gaiety Cinema on Monday the 20th March, 2017 for four weeks. Provision for pedestrian access will be provided. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Works will take place on the entrance to The Fairgreen, Temple Street.  These are expected to last 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Footpath replacement works will be ongoing along The Mardyke (R291, Rosses Point Road). Associated traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works which will result in delays at peak times in both directions.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Road restoration will be carried out on the Ladies Brea/Carrowcullen/Leharrow.  A temporary road closure will be in place (local access will be provided) diversions via Lough Easkey rd and the Hungary rock.

Footpath works will be carried out on the Cliff Rd, Enniscrone. Traffic lights will be in operation, Minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
