Sligo man wins Letterkenny house in GAA draw

GAA Club draw at St.Eunans GAA Club in Letterkenny, Co Donegal was a monster hit with punters as they offered a house as the number one prize.

With tickets costing €100 and a house worth €155,000 up for grabs, the draw received rapid and intriguing attention by all.

The house is at 33 Rann Mor Meadow, pictured, a semi-detached house in a popular Letterkenny estate.

Yet, not only was a house up for grabs; an all-inclusive cruise for two people, 1000 euro worth of heating oil, a weekend away and a trip to sunny Portugal were just some of the other great prizes on offer.

The lucky winner of the house was Sligo-man, Justin Brett.

Mr Brett is urrently living in London, however, he now aims to move back to Ireland an take up residence in his new home.

A statement following the draw was issued by St.Eunan’s GAA Clubs Official Facebook account:

“We have managed to contact the winner of the House. Justin Brett is from Tubbercurry in Co Sligo and flew back to London last night after a weekend at home. He has advised Paul McGovern [GAA Official]  that it is a life-changing win and he hopes to move home. He was in and he won!”

As well as the statement, the GAA club’s official Twitter account thanked everyone who made the respectable competition possible.

Remarkably, this draw was not the first “house draw” that St Eunan’s GAA Club managed to organise.

According to the Donegal Democrat, Justin Brett’s ticket was pulled by Clare O’Donnell, who won a house in the last St Eunan’s house draw which occurred in 2008.

A massive round of applause to everyone involved.

If Carlsberg did GAA Club draws….
