is a landmark award winning music series - part music documentary; part travelogue; It returned for a third series on Sunday last and continues to chart the musical landscapes of Ireland and Scotland.
Presented by singers Julie Fowlis from the Outer Hebrides in Scotland and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh from the Dingle Peninsula Co Kerry, the series travels to bustling urban centres and sleepy townships to record a cast of musicians, raconteurs and characters. This Sunday's (May 6th) episode was filmed in Sligo and features the great young Sligo singer Niamh Farrell chatting and exchanging songs with Scottish singers including Linda McLeod and Julie Fowlis.
Niamh Farrel came to attention in 2014 during a 10-month world tour with English singer-songwriting star David Gray. The tour highlight for Niamh was performing at the Ryman Auditorium, the home of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Niamh recently joined the group Project West with whom she has toured extensively in the past year.
Port will be shown on TG4 this Sunday May 6th at 9.30pm
