The Chairman of South and West Sligo Municipal District Cllr Dara Mulvey in a motion called on Sligo County Council to put safe pull-in bays along the road leading to the popular Dunmoran strand before the busy summer season due to the soft verge on both sides of this road.
He said, "I have seen at first hand the traffic congestion along this narrow road at busy times as this is a very busy tourist attraction."
Following the monthly council meeting yesterday of Sligo County Council a delighted Cllr Mulvey said, "I have received confirmation at today's meeting from Mr Tom Kilfeather Senior Engineer that Sligo County Council will put pull-in bays along the road to Dunmoran strand to allow Cars-Vans-Camper vans etc to pass safely."
Work is expected to commence shortly.
