RTÉ HAS confirmed it will offer live television coverage of Sligo's Connacht Championship game next week.
It
had been feared there might be a repeat of recent seasons, where many
of Mayo games were confined to Sky Sports subscription channel.
But Sligo's quarter final tussle with Mayo at Elverys MacHale Park in Castlebar will be screened live at 2pm next Sunday, May 21st.
The winners then travel to meet Galway in the semi final on June 11th.
Eagerly Anticipated
Mayo were second best to Dublin in last September's football final.
That game went to a replay and Mayo lost by the narrowest of margins, 1-15 to 1-14.
The Connacht kingpins have been defeated in eight All Ireland senior football finals since their last premier title in 1951.
RTÉ
's coverage will be anchored by Michael Lyster and his panel for the
Sligo and Mayo game will be Colm O'Rourke and Pat Spillane.
The
football coverage will be followed by the eagerly anticipated Munster
senior hurling clash of the ash between Cork and 2016'All Ireland
champions Tipperary.
