Fianna Fáil's Sligo County Councillor Keith Henry was re-elected as Vice-Chairperson of the HSE West Health Forum Committee at its AGM in Galway recently. The Ballymote based Councillor was unanimously re-elected to the post having being proposed by Leitrim FF Cllr Caillian Ellis and seconded by Mayo Independent Councillor Michael Kilcoyne.
Speaking after his re-elected Cllr Henry told Sligo Today,
“I’m delighted to have been re-elected as Vice Chair and look forward to working with Gerry Mc Monagle from Donegal who will chair the committee. "The forum gives local representatives a chance to raise important matters and question HSE staff on policy and procedural matters”.
Cllr Henry has been vocal on the committee having questioned HSE staff on numerous issues such as cancer patient free parking passes at Sligo University Hospital as well as the shortfall in funding for mental health services and places for graduate nurses within the service.
