ONLY ONE recent visitor to Sligo town's top tourist attraction has criticised nearby road works.
The 13th Sligo Abbey remains the most visited tourist attraction in town.
Streets and some paths in the immediate vicinity have either been dug up or partially closed over the past two months.

Said one visitor from Florida last month: ''I would not go out of my way to see this site.
''Traffic in Sligo is awful as they are doing road work,'' said the solitary dissenting voice on the Trip Advisor website.
Several spoke of a desire to visit the site again, with Americans and Canadians most enthusiastic in their praise.
Sandy from Albuquerque in New Mexico found only two other visitors exploring the place.
Added Sandy: ''The solitude enhanced the sense of tranquility and solemn timelessness.''
A Canadian visitor in May commented: ''Such a great place to visit with such great history.
''Not to be missed. Would love to visit again whenever we go back to Sligo,'' added the visitor from southern Ontario.

Colorado, Dublin, North Carolina, Florida, Montreal and several parts of
Canada as home addresses.
