A man in his late 70s died following a single vehicle crash at Dromore West, Co Sligo at 2.30pm Saturday afternoon.
The man, named locally as Robert Kilgannon from Culleens, was pronounced dead at the scene after his tractor overturned in a side road off off the N59 between Ballina (Mayo) and Dromore West.
The body of the dead man was removed by ambulance to Sligo University Hospital where a post mortem examination is scheduled to be carried out.
Ballymote gardaí closed the road for a technical examination and has since reopened.The deaths bring to 81 the number of people killed in traffic collisions so far this year.
Also this weekend two men in their 20s have died in separate road crashes in counties Monaghan and Westmeath.
In Monaghan, the single-vehicle crash happened at Lurgans in Carrickmacross at around 5am this morning, Sunday.
The man was the sole occupant of a car which crashed into a ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road has been closed to traffic and diversions are in place.

In Westmeath, a motorcyclist died following a collision with three cars last night.
The 26-year-old man was injured in the collision which occurred at the Pigeons, Athlone at around 8pm.
He was treated at the scene by emergency services but died a short time later.
The road is closed and local diversions are in place.
