EX SLIGO Rovers player Seanie Maguire had a scoring debut on his return to English football last night, Tuesday.
He came on as a substitute for Preston North End in its friendly with Burnley.
Maguire's solo burst into the penalty box to score after 20 minutes on the pitch was a good way to introduce himself to fans.
Also making his Preston debut last night was Kevin O'Connor.
He scored the winner from a corner in Cork City's 2-1 defeat of Sligo Rovers earlier this season at the Showgrounds.
was the SSE Airtricity League's top scorer -- all with Cork City --
when he returned to try his hand at football in England.
Five years ago he came to the Showgrounds on loan from West Ham United in London.
Former Bit o' Red boss Ian Baraclough made scant use of Maguire, introducing him very late late in games.
