Over €840k for Sligo Wild Atlantic Way project

South and West Sligo Cllr Dara Mulvey has expressed his delight at the good news from Minister Michael Ring TD that Sligo County Council are to receive €840,285 for the first major anchor project in Co Sligo along the Wild Atlantic way.

The project is in conjunction with Coolaney National Mountain Biking Centre, Coillte, Failte Ireland, NW Regional Assembly multiple local partners.

Cllr Mulvey stated he will continue to lobby to ensure this National Mountain Biking Centre at Coolaney will progress.

He told Sligo Today, "This project will be a huge benefit to the North West region and will attract large numbers of tourists and investment.

"Sligo is renowned for its outstanding scenery and recreational activities and this will add greatly to whats already on offer in our region and I want to thank all involved in the project so far."


Cllr Mulvey has said that he understands that Ulster Bank, which is closing its Ballymote branch next month, is to provide a mobile banking service for the town.

He said he is currently seeking clarification on what services will be provided along with locations, timings and dates for the replacement service.
