Sligo Rovers play tonight, lotto result

PATRICIA McKENNA won the 200 Tesco voucher in Sligo Rovers weekly lotto last night, Monday.

The winning foursome was 2, 7, 19, 22 and there were no claims for the jackpot of 2,000.

Last night's winner purchased her ticket from Michael McTiernan.

Next week the lotto draw will be Tuesday due to the Public Holiday weekend.

Top prize will be 2,300 for a single winner with all four numbers, or shared if there is more than one all-correct forecast.

Match Tonight

On the playing field Sligo Rovers will play Ballinamallard United, in a 7.30pm friendly at the Showgrounds tonight, Tuesday.

A number of the club's new signings are expected to make their homes debuts.

These include: Experienced winger Jamie McDonagh, strikers Greg Moorhouse and Vinny Faherty.

They were all signed yesterday on the final day of the transfer 'window.'

Already signed was Omar Haughton, whose clearance papers failed to come through for last weekend's draw with Dundalk.

Messenger Boy

Meanwhile, striker Jonah Ayunga has ended his spell on loan in Sligo from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ayunga, who scored four times in 21 games, will finish his season in the SSE Airtricity League with Galway United.

The arrival of Jamie McDonagh from Scottish club Greenock Morton recalls a past Sligo Rovers favourite who came the same route on the way to bigger things.

That was 1960s goalie Finnbar Flood, whose career was ended with a Showgrounds.

Flood, now deceased, rose from the rank of messenger boy to become managing director of Guinness in later years.

Mick Murray, one of Flood's regular team mates in the Sligo Rovers defence, was guest of honour in the Showgrounds last Saturday night.

Finally, former Sligo Rovers stalwart Gavin Dykes has managed tonight's opponents, Ballinamallard United, in recent years.

His playing squad includes ex Sligo Rovers regulars goalie Richard Brush and winger Liam Martyn.
