Latest Sligo Road and Traffic Report

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:


Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract

Works starting back on Tuesday the 8th August on Lower Pearse Road and will continue with the same Traffic Management in place as before holidays.

The street will have a north bound lane closure in place with diversions in place and signs posted.

There are 5 different Northbound diversions available at the following locations:

1.    HGV's should use divert off Pearse Road at Mail Coach Road
2.    Traffic can turn left at Saint Brigids to Mail Coach Road
3.    Traffic can turn left at Vernon Street to Mail Coach Road.
4.    Traffic can turn left at Burton Street to High Street.
5.    Traffic can turn right at Vernon St and left to Abbey Street.

South bound traffic should not have disruptions.

Boundary box installations on footpaths will be ongoing on Tonaphubble Lane.

Traffic Management in place with minor delays expected.

Works are also due to start on Ash Lane ( N16 ) on Tuesday the 8th August.

Works will be in the verge area and bicycle lane for the first week with no Traffic Management on the road.

John Street will have footpath construction taking place during the day with possible road reinstatement at night.

Traffic Management will be in place for both motorist and pedestrians with no delays expected.

A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of all the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.

Road crossings to facilitate gulley connections will be ongoing along the Lower Pearse Road

Traffic Management will be in place for both motorists and pedestrians.  Motorists are advised to drive with caution. Minor delays can be expected.

NORTH SLIGO AREA

Verge trimming will continue on the N15 National Primary Road from Teesan northwards to Bunduff.  Traffic Management will be in place and delays may be expected.  Motorists to exercise caution.  Works expected to last one week.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Wall construction is continuing at the Cloona Graveyard, Enniscrone. Traffic management is in place. No delays expected.

Verge trimming will be carried out on the R297/R298. A stop/go system will be in operation, minor delays are expected

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Improvement works will commence on the R284 in Geevagh on the 26th July 2017.  Traffic Management will be in place and minor delays may be expected. Motorists to exercise caution. Works expected to last three weeks.

Verge trimming will commence on all junctions on the R284 from Sooey to the County Boundary at Ballyfarnon.  Traffic control will be in operation and works are expected to last 1 week.

MINOR WORKS:

SLIGO CITY AREA:


A Scaffolding licence has been granted for Thomas Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last until 28th August 2017. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

A Scaffolding licence has been granted for Charles Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last until 28th August 2017. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

A Scaffolding licence has been granted for 2 Bell’s Terrace, Pearse Road, Sligo. Works are expected to last until 14th August 2017. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Hedge cutting works will be ongoing at various locations. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

SLIGO/STRANDHILL AREA:

Verge trimming will take place on the following Regional Roads

R292 – Sligo- Strandhill- Ballydrehid
R284 – Carrowroe – Ballygawley
R290 – Collooney – Ballygawley – Ballintogher

The works are expected to last 2 weeks. A stop/go traffic management plan will be in operation. Only minor traffic disruption is envisaged.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Footpath works will continue in the Hollow, Enniscrone.  Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Drainage works will be carried out in the Enniscrone area. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

Verge trimming will commence on all junctions on the R295 to the County Boundary and R294 from Gurteen eastwards to the County Boundary. Traffic control will be in operation and works are expected to last 1 week.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:


Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
