Sligo Road and Traffic Report - 28 August

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:


Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract

Pipelaying operations will continue on the Pearse Road in a southwards direction towards the Junction with Mail Coach Road.  Temporary traffic lights will be in operation to maintain north and south bound traffic flows.

Pilkington Terrace and St Bridget’s Place (Off the Pearse Rd) are expected to be re-opened to normal traffic flows from mid week onwards

There will be no through Traffic from Chapel Hill onto Pearse Road.

It is expected that traffic restrictions will be lifted on the following streets

Thomas Street,
Teeling Street,
Castle Street,
Abbey Street,
Chapel Street,
Old Market Street
Burton Street.


Pipelaying works will continue along Ash Lane/Duck Street areas in Ballinode with temporary traffic lights in operation

Minor footpath repair and kerbing works will be ongoing along Castle street

Full road closures (night closures - 7pm to 7am) are planned for Castle Street on the 5th and 6th September in order to facilitate Road Re-Surfacing Works.

Traffic Management in place at all works locations but minor delays can be expected.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution.


Trench  Reinstatment Works  will take  place  on the R287  in Aughamore area  on the Sligo to Drumahaire  Road  near the Junction  with the Holy Well  road. This work will be carried  out  on Monday 28th  and Tuesday  29th August.  Traffic Lights  will be in  operation.


Toberbride Roundabout Surface Improvement Works

Surface improvement works will take place on Toberbride Roundabout and its immediate approaches from Tuesday August 29th to Saturday September 2nd.  To minimise disruption to normal traffic these works will commence at 18:30 each evening and continue until 07:00 the following morning.  Traffic management will be in operation, and this will lead to minor delays

TUBBERCURRY AREA:


Footpath upgrade works will commence on the N17 Circular Road Tubbercurry from Monday 21st August. Traffic control will be in operation with significant delays expected. Works expected to last 2 weeks.

Footpath upgrade works will commence on the R294 Ballymote road, Tubbercurry from Wednesday 23rd  August. Traffic control will be in operation with significant delays expected. Works expected to last 1 week.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Wall construction is continuing at the Cloona Graveyard, Enniscrone. Traffic management is in place. No delays expected.

Verge trimming will be carried out on the R297/R298. A stop/go system will be in operation, minor delays are expected


MINOR WORKS:

SLIGO CITY AREA:


Footpath works will continue on John Street on the North side. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Footpath works will be carried out on Lower Pearse Road up to Mercy Primary School. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

A Scaffolding licence has been extended for Thomas Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last several more weeks.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

A Scaffolding licence has been granted for Charles Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last until 4th September 2017. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

A Scaffolding licence has been granted for 4 Church Hill, Sligo. Works are expected to last until 1st September 2017. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Footpath works will continue in the Hollow, Enniscrone.  Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Drainage works will be carried out in the Enniscrone area. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
