Sligo Tidy Towns disappointed with IBAL ranking

The Chairman of Sligo Tidy Towns has expressed disappointment with the latest Results from IBAL, (Irish Business Against Litter).

Peter Tiernan told Sligo Today this morning, "While retaining its 'Clean to European Norm' status, the town has dropped 9 points in the ratings scale.

Mr Conor Horgan of IBAL, says Sligo did well overall, but its rating was reduced by a recycling facility on the Connaughton Road, and a vacant Unit at Cleveragh Business Park.

Mr Horgan also said that dumping is the new litter in many respects.
