Sligo Road and Traffic Report -2 October

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:


Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract


Pipelaying operations will continue on the Pearse Road extending from the Mail Coach Road junction southwards towards Markievicz Park. A section of the Pearse Road between the Cleveragh Road and Mail Coach Road junctions will be closed off to south bound traffic flows. A diversion will be in place taking south bound traffic around by Cleveragh Road and Cemetery Road to rejoin the Pearse Road at Markievicz Park. This diversion is expected to be lifted towards the end of the week with traffic flows returning to normal.

Vehicles entering Pearse Road from Mail Coach Road will only be permitted to turn left towards Lower Pearse Road. For vehicles here wishing to get access to Upper Pearse Road/Markievicz Park area, they will be directed to use Cleveragh Road and Cemetery Road. This diversion is expected to be lifted towards the end of the week with traffic flows returning to normal.
 
Pipelaying operations will continue along Bridge Street with south bound traffic flows towards Thomas Street restricted to one lane. These works along Bridge Street are expected to be ongoing for a further 2 weeks.

Minor traffic disruption can be expected in the vicinity of the MSLETB (formerly FAS) training Centre on the Manorhamilton Road as pipelaying operations continue in this area. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation here.

Road crossings and installation of Boundary Boxes along Pearse Road will continue during the week. Some night time working is expected here.

Traffic Management will be in place at all works locations with diversions clearly signed.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution.


Holborn Hill
Works will continue on Holborn Hill L-9002 for the Father Flanagan Housing development. Temporary Traffic Lights are in operation and will remain in place. Minor delays can be expected. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.

O’Connell Street Sewer Rehabilitation Works (Pictured)


As part of the O’Connell Street Sewer Rehabilitation Works being undertaken by Irish Water, O’Connell Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Monday October 2th until Friday October 27th.  A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works which will include facilitating deliveries between 8am and 12noon Monday to Saturday.  Diversions will be in place via Lower John Street, Adelaide Street and Wine Street.

N17 Templehouse, Surface Improvement Works


Surface improvement works will be taking place on the N17 in the Templehouse area between the hours of 08:00 to 18:30.  Some delays can be expected as a result of these works and the associated traffic management, and motorist’s co-operation is much appreciated.

N15 Cliffoney, Surface Improvement Works

Surface improvement works will be taking place on the N15 in the village of Cliffoney on Monday, 2nd of October and Tuesday 3rd October between the hours of 08:00 to 18:30.  Some delays can be expected as a result of these works and the associated traffic management, and motorist’s co-operation is much appreciated.

N15 Teesan Culvert

Rehabilitation works are taking place to a culvert on the N15 National Primary Road at Teesan, approximately 3km north of Sligo City.  Traffic management with temporary traffic signals will be in place for the duration of the works with delays expected.  Works are expected to last for several weeks.

SLIGO STRANDHILL AREA:

The installation of kerbing will take place on the Sligo and Ballisodare approaches to the roundabout at Ransboro on the R292. Traffic lights will be in place. Minor delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:


Drainage improvement works will commence on the 30th September on the N4 from Cloonamahon to Castlebaldwin. Traffic control will be in operation with significant delays expected. Works will continue for 3 weeks

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Verge upgrade works will commence on the N17 at the Cloonacool junction, Tubbercurry from Monday 2nd October.  Traffic control will be in operation with minor delay expected. Works will continue for 2 weeks.
 
Drainage improvement works will continue on the N17 / R293 junction (Clarke’s Bridge) Collooney.  Traffic control will be in operation with significant delay expected. Works will continue for 2 weeks.
 
ENNISCRONE AREA:


Wall construction is continuing at the Cloona Graveyard, Enniscrone. Traffic management is in place. No delays expected.

SLIGO CITY AREA
:

A Scaffolding licence has been extended for Thomas Street/Castle Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last for a further number of weeks.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

A Scaffolding licence has been granted for Castle Street (Outside Call of the Wild). Works are expected to last until 13th October, 2017. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Footpath works will continue in the Hollow, Enniscrone.  Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Drainage works will be carried out in the Enniscrone area. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:


Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
