coastal landscape and, more recently, by the discovery of her ancestral
ties with Dernish Island, just off the north Sligo coast. All her pieces

five new pieces to her Shore Collection – two necklaces, two styles of

love of the sea has been a driving force in her work and the Shore
Collection features imprints in the sand from the tide, periwinkles on
rocks, and oysters and pearls.
For the 150th anniversary of
the birthday of poet WB Yeats, Martina designed a rare Yeatsian rose
necklace, which she presented to film and TV star Joanna Lumley on Yeats
Day in 2015.

President Barack Obama to wear during the St Patrick’s Day celebrations
in Washington DC.

collaboration began when Martina asked Leonie earlier this year if she
would model some pieces for her Shore Collection in a stunning
seashore-themed photo shoot.
Martina Hamilton said, “I could
think of no better model. I called Leonie to see if she would do it but
never expected her to go for it. She said yes immediately. The images
were so beautiful, I then asked her if she would be an ambassador for
the brand and, to my delight, she said she would be happy to.
am thrilled to welcome Leonie as brand ambassador for Martina Hamilton
jewellery. Leonie has been a friend for the past 20 years since she came
to carry out work experience in my retail store, The Cat and The Moon
, in Sligo.
the first day she worked in the shop, she really stood out. She had
such a sense of glamour and confidence and a lovely sense of style. She
worked with us during the summer and Christmas until she went to college
and then her own career took off.”
Leonie Cornelius said,
“When Martina asked me to collaborate with her as a brand ambassador, I
was absolutely delighted. I have known Martina for a very long time and
her designs, work and approach are such an inspiration to me as a
designer and person. Her approach to everything she does is so unique
and filled with personal stories, personal touches and real heart. I am
honoured to call her a friend and proud to have been asked to represent
this incredible Irish brand.”
