An innovative event entitled Girls Take Over Day
in support of the Because IíM A Girl
charity, linked with the famous organisation Plan International will take place on campus at IT Sligo on the 9th November.
It will be a day full of actions to collect money and raise awareness about women around the world.
French students studying at IT Sligo and on the Erasmus programme in Marketing decided to promote women empowerment by assisting this charity and are determined to make this day an opportunity to change mentalities.
ďWe must raise our voice to ensure justice and equality for more than the half of the population of earth: WOMEN. This is the reason why we are standing for Because IíM A Girl,
some women in the world arenít as lucky as we are, itís our duty to support them and try to have their issues identified and heard.Ē Outlined Iris Legrand, one of the seven students on the programme. The Girl Take Over Day will be composed of a lecture about empowering women, a concert, a raffle and finally an interactive art project will be created.
For the past few weeks, IT Sligo students have worked hard to find local and national sponsors, partners and many gifts, to make this day count!
