Sligo Road and Traffic Report - 30 October

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA
:

Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract


Pipelaying Operations will continue along Union Street during the week with a full road closure in operation and local diversions in place. These works are expected to last a further 2 weeks.
 
Pipelaying works will continue along Stephen Street during the week. Parking restrictions will be in place but single line traffic will be maintained.
 
Pipelaying works will continue on Old Market Street with a full road closure in operation. Diversion routes will be signed via Pearse Road and Burton Street. It’s expected that these works will be substantially completed by the end of the week.
 
Road crossings and installation of boundary boxes in footpaths will continue along Pearse Road and Bridge Street during the week, some of it at night time.
 Minor Footpath works will continue on Castle Street, John Street, Thomas and Teeling Street. Some night work is anticipated but minimum disruption is anticipated.

Traffic Management will be in place at all works locations with diversions clearly signed.

Holborn Hill


Works will continue on Holborn Hill L-9002 for the Father Flanagan Housing development. Temporary Traffic Lights are in operation and will remain in place. Minor delays can be expected. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.

O’Connell Street Sewer Rehabilitation Works, pictured.

As part of the O’Connell Street Sewer Rehabilitation Works being undertaken by Irish Water, O’Connell Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Monday October 30th   until Tuesday November 21st between the hours of 7pm and 7am. (Night Time Closure).  A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works.  Diversions will be in place via Lower John Street, Adelaide Street and Wine Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

SLIGO DRUMCLIFFE AREA:


N15 Teesan Culvert


Rehabilitation works are taking place to a culvert on the N15 National Primary Road at Teesan, approximately 3km north of Sligo City.  Traffic management with temporary traffic signals will be in place for the duration of the works with delays expected.  Works are expected to last for several weeks.

Rathcormack

Traffic calming works will be taking place in Rathcormack along the N15 from Tuesday October 31st to Friday November 24th.  While traffic management will be in place, it is not expected to cause significant delays.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Drainage improvement works will continue on the hard shoulder of the N4 from Castlebaldwin to Ballinfad. Traffic management will be in place. Works are expected to last one week.

Drainage improvement works will commence on the R293 at Stonepark, Ballymote. Traffic management will be in place. Works are expected to last two weeks.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:  

Bridge rehabilitation works are taking place to Gortygara Bridge on the R294 in the townland of Gortygara, Gorteen. Traffic lights are in operation for the duration of the works. Repair works to the bridge are to last for two weeks.

ENNISCRONE AREA:


Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 from Corhownagh to Dromore West. A stop/go system will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

Wall construction is continuing at the Cloona Graveyard, Enniscrone. Traffic management is in place. No delays expected.

Pavement Overlay works will commence on Wednesday the 11th Of October on the N59 in the townland of Owenbeg. Traffic lights will be in operation for the duration of the works. Works are expected to last five weeks.

MINOR WORKS:

ENNISCRONE AREA:


Footpath works will continue in the Hollow, Enniscrone.  Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Footpath works will continue at the Easkey River Walk.  Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Drainage works will be carried out in the Enniscrone area. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
