Sligo Road and Traffic Report - 6 November

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:


Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract

Pipelaying Works will continue along Union Street during the week with a full road closure in operation and local diversions in place. These works are expected to be substantially complete by the end of the week.
 
Pipelaying works will continue along Stephen Street during the week. Parking restrictions will be in place but single line traffic will be maintained.
 
Pipelaying works are programmed to commence along Connolly Street on Monday 6th November with a full road closure in operation Diversion routes will be signed via Burton Street, Lower Pearse Road and Mail Coach Road.  These works are expected to last 3 weeks.

Pipelaying and road reinstatement works are programmed to finish up along Old Market Street early in the week with the Road Closure being lifted.
 
Road crossings and installation of boundary boxes in footpaths will be ongoing along Bridge Street during the week, some of it at night time.
 
Minor Footpath works will continue on Castle Street, John Street, Thomas and Teeling Street. Some night work is anticipated but minimum disruption is anticipated.

Traffic Management will be in place at all works locations with diversions clearly signed.

Holborn Hill/Ballytivnan AC Mains Replacement:

Holborn Hill/Ballytivnan AC Mains Replacement is due to commence on Monday 6th November. 

Works are to commence at the crest of Holborn hill proceeding north towards Ash lane roundabout.

Trenchless technology is proposed as pipeline replacement method to reduce the potential impact and traffic disruption.

Holborn Hill:

Works will continue southwards on Holborn Hill L-9002 for the Father Flanagan Housing development.

Temporary Traffic Lights are in operation at the junction of Holborn St/Barrack St/Holborn Hill. Minor delays can be expected. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.

N59 Ballysadare Drainage Works:
Works are due to commence on drainage works on the N59 West of Ballysadare village outside of Harrington’s Quarry on Monday 6th November.  It is envisaged that Temporary Traffic Lights will be in place for four days and delays are expected.

O’Connell Street Sewer Rehabilitation Works

As part of the O’Connell Street Sewer Rehabilitation Works being undertaken by Irish Water, O’Connell Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Monday October 30th until Tuesday November 21st between the hours of 7pm and 7am. (Night Time Closure). 

A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works.  Diversions will be in place via Lower John Street, Adelaide Street and Wine Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

SLIGO DRUMCLIFFE AREA:

N15 Teesan Culvert

Rehabilitation works are taking place to a culvert on the N15 National Primary Road at Teesan, approximately 3km north of Sligo City.  Traffic management with temporary traffic signals will be in place for the duration of the works with delays expected.  Works are expected to last for several weeks.
Rathcormack
Traffic calming works will continue in Rathcormack along the N15 for the next four weeks.  While traffic management will be in place, it is not expected to cause significant delays.

BALLYMOTE AREA:


The raising of ironworks will commence on the R293 at Stonepark/Abbey Terrace. Traffic control will be in operation. Works are expected to last 1 week.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 from Corhownagh to Dromore West. A stop/go system will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

Wall construction is continuing at the Cloona Graveyard, Enniscrone. Traffic management is in place. No delays expected.

Pavement Overlay works will continue on the N59 in the townland of Owenbeg. Traffic lights will be in operation for the duration of the works. Works are expected to last five weeks.

MINOR WORKS:


Sligo Area:

Footpath works will continue at the entrance to Dick Kent Park.  Minor delays expected.

A Scaffolding Licence has been granted for 68 Lower John St. Works are expected to last until 10th November, 2017.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Drainage works will be carried out in the Enniscrone area. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
