Testing of Christmas lights surprises Sligo shoppers

Sligo shoppers were surprised to see the town's Christmas lights illuminating the darkness over recent days with many surprised at the early display.

Sligo Today can confirm that the official 'switch on' is not scheduled by Sligo BID to take place until 17 November.

However due to the installation of new junction boxes throughout the system it is necessary to temporarily test the system to ensure all is well on the big day.

Shoppers will therefore be treated to previews over the coming days of what promises to be an excellent display over the festive season.
