A good hair day at Peter Mark - 24 employees honoured

Peter Mark, Ireland’s leading hairdressing group, today honoured 24 of its employees at a special awards ceremony in Athlone for their long-standing service and contribution to the company.

The Peter Mark Long Service Awards took place at Sheraton Hotel and recognised employees in Sligo, Athlone, Galway, Castlebar, Navan and Mullingar who have worked at Peter Mark for 10 years or more. Further regional ceremonies are planned throughout the year and by the end of 2017, Peter Mark will have celebrated 496 employees who have been in the business for a decade or more.

Of the 24 honoured today, the average length of service was 14 years but many were celebrating several years more! Noeline Curtis from Peter Mark Navan was celebrating over 30 years of service with Ireland’s best-known hairdressing brand. Collectively those honoured today have 1,209 years of experience in the hairdressing world ranging from stylists to support staff.

Peter Mark has been at the forefront of Irish hairdressing for 56 years. The first Peter Mark salon was opened by brothers Peter and Mark Keaveney in 1961 on Grafton St. Their second salon in 1964 and their third in Stillorgan in1966. Their first unisex salon opened on North Earl St in 1970 and the following year they opened their first training centre at the same location. Today there are 71 salons across the island of Ireland and the company employs more 1,700 people.

We are delighted to celebrate our loyal employees and recognise those who have been with us for over a decade to those who have been with our business for 25 years or more. Of everyone in the room, the average length of service is 14 years which is a massive achievement in today’s world.”
