SLIGO AREA:Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract:
Pipelaying works will continue on Holborn Street next week between the Barrack Street and Stephen Street junctions. A three way temporary traffic light system will be in place along Holborn Street from Friday 1st December between the Connaughton Road junction and the Barrack St/Holborn Hill junctions.
A full road closure will be in place from 6th December to 23rd December to accommodate pipelaying along the stretch between the Connaughton Road junction and Stephen Street. Crossing of the Connaughton Road intersection itself will be undertaken over a couple of night time periods (7.00pm to 7.00am) to minimize disruption to motorists.
These works along Holborn Street will be ongoing until Christmas and delays can be expected with diversions in place.
Pipelaying works will continue along Lower Quay Street during the week with a full road closure in place extending from the Quay Street shopping centre car park exit to the east end of Lower Quay Street. These works are expected to last a further 2 weeks. Local diversion signs will be in place.
Pipelaying works will be ongoing nightly from 7.00pm to 7.00am at the junction of Connolly St & Temple St. Minor delays can be expected. (Connolly Street is expected to be re-opened to normal traffic flows by Monday 4th December).
Pipelaying works will be ongoing along Cemetery Road next week between the Pearse Road junction and Cairns Drive. These works will continue up to mid December. A road closure will be in place with traffic being re-routed around by Cleveragh Road.
Planing out and road resurfacing works are programmed for completion at the following locations along the Pearse Road between Monday 4th and Thursday 7th December - Minor delays can be expected. Outbound lane between Vernon St and Chapel Hill junctions
Inbound lane between Marymount and Mail Coach Road junctions
Limited planing out and road resurfacing works are also programmed for completion along Chapel Hill and Vernon St, specifically at their respective east side junctions with the Pearse Road. Local diversions will be in place for duration of works at each junction – anticipated to last no longer than a day in each case.
Between Tuesday 5th and Thursday 7th December, motorists can expect minor delays during installation of traffic light loops in road surfaces at the following junctions

Mail Coach Rd / Pearse Rd
Circular Rd / Pearse Rd
Connolly St / Mail Coach Rd
Lower Quay St / Queens Store Rd
Installation of boundary boxes in footpaths will be ongoing along Connolly Street, Holborn Hill & Stephen St. during the week.
Traffic Management will be in place at all works locations with diversions clearly signed. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.Holborn Hill/Ballytivnan AC Mains Replacement:
Pipe laying Works are compete on Holborn Hill and on Ash Lane roundabout and proceeding on Ballytivnan Road. Pavement reinstatement works shall be undertaken on Holborn Hill and Ash lane this week also. Parking restrictions are currently in place. Traffic is controlled using a give and take system. Motorists are advised to adhere to the temporary parking restrictions in addition to the existing parking restrictions.John Street Bus Stop:
Construction works to John Street bus stop will continue. One way traffic will be maintained. Pedestrians on the southern footpath will be diverted around the works. Parking restrictions will be in place during the works including two disabled parking bays.SLIGO DRUMCLIFFE AREA:
Survey works will take on the N16 (Sligo to Manorhamilton) between the townlands of Drumkilsellagh and Lugnagall, from Friday the 17th of November to Friday the 8th of December. These works will also extend to all the local roads within this section. Traffic Management will be in operation which may cause some delays.
N15 Teesan Culvert
Rehabilitation works are taking place to a culvert on the N15 National Primary Road at Teesan, approximately 3km north of Sligo City. Traffic management with temporary traffic signals will be in place for the duration of the works with delays expected. Works are expected to last for several weeks. Rathcormack
Traffic calming works will continue in Rathcormack along the N15 for the next two weeks. Due to the increased level of work activity on the road, traffic lights will be used to shuttle traffic through the works site. This is expected to cause significant delays in both directions at peak times.
N15 Mullaghnaneane-Urlar Mains Replacement Works
Works for new watermains pipelines will take place in the Cashelgarran and Urlar areas north of Drumcliffe. Works will commence on Local Road No. L-7402-0 behind Henrys Bar & Restaurant in Cashelgarran on Monday 4th December and on Local Road L-7308-0 in Urlar Wednesday 6th December. Traffic management will be in operation which may cause some delays.
Roadworks will take place on the N15 National Primary Road at Kintogher commencing on Tuesday 5th December. Traffic management with temporary traffic signals or Stop/Go system will be in place for the duration of the works with delays expected. Works are expected to last two days.
SLIGO STRANDHILL AREA:
Traffic management will continue to be in place on the N4 dual carriageway between Summerhill roundabout and Toberbride roundabout, Collooney from Monday 4th December to allow for maintenance works. No delays are expected.
N59 Ballysadare Drainage Works:
Works are due to commence on drainage works on the N59 West of Ballysadare village outside of Harrington’s Quarry. It is envisaged that Temporary Traffic Lights will be in place for four days and delays are expected.
Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 from Dromore West to the Mayo County Boundary. A stop/go system will be in operation. Minor delays expected.
Wall construction is continuing at the Cloona Graveyard, Enniscrone. Traffic management is in place. No delays expected.
Footpath repairs will be carried out on the R297, Carrowhubback, Enniscrone. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.
Traffic Calming works will continue in Ballynacarrow for the week. Lane closures will be in place to facilitate the works so some minor delays should be expected.
Works will continue in Oaklawn Housing Estate, Pearse Road with traffic management in place. Minor delays are expected.ENNISCRONE AREA:
Drainage works will be carried out in the Enniscrone area. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.
Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
Road Restoration will continue in Carrowpadeen, Rathlee. Traffic management will be in place. Minor delays expected.
Drainage works will be carried out in Skreen Beg. A temporary road closure will be in place. Local access will be provided.
Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
