Sligo Road and Traffic Report - 18 December

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:


Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract:

Pipelaying works will continue along Holborn Street during week with a road closure in place and no through vehicular access permitted from the Connaughton Road junction into Stephen Street. (Access is however being maintained into the privately run carpark on Holborn Street). These works are expected to be substantially complete by the end of the week with the street being re-opened to normal traffic flows.

Pipelaying works along Lower Quay Street (currently ongoing under a road closure) are expected to be substantially complete by the end of the week.  Full unrestricted vehicular access is expected to be restored from both the Unions St./Custom House Quay (west) side and the Quay Street (East) side

Limited pipelaying works will be ongoing at the north end of Quay Street during the week but 2 way traffic flows are expected to be maintained here along with vehicular access into the Quay Street public carpark

Pipelaying works will continue along Cemetery Road during the week with a road closure in place between the Cairns Drive junction and the Cleveragh Road junction. All works along Cemetery Road are programmed for completion by Christmas.

Limited pipelaying works are programmed for completion along Temple Street over 2 days during the week – between off-peak hours of 9.30 and 4.00pm daily (at the junction with Connolly Street). Outgoing traffic (proceeding towards Mail Coach Road) can expect minor delays at this junction.

Installation of boundary boxes in footpaths are programmed for completion during the evening times along Stephen Street and Lower Quay Street/Union Street areas

Minor footpath re-paving works will be ongoing on Bridge Street (at Pedestrian slip into Stephen St Carpark) during night time hours over 1-2 nights, also at top of Teeling St (courthouse area) during daytime hours

Traffic Management will be in place at all works locations with diversions clearly signed. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

John Street Bus Stop:

Construction works to John Street bus stop will continue until mid-week.  One way traffic will be maintained.  Pedestrians on the southern footpath will be diverted around the works.  Parking restrictions will be in place during the works including two disabled parking bays.

SLIGO DRUMCLIFFE AREA:

Rathcormack

Traffic calming works will continue in Rathcormack along the N15 for the next two weeks.  Due to the increased level of work activity on the road, traffic lights will be used to shuttle traffic through the works site.  This is expected to cause significant delays in both directions at peak times.

N15 Mullaghnaneane-Urlar Mains Replacement Works


Works for new watermains pipelines will take place in the Cashelgarran and Urlar areas north of Drumcliffe. Works are substantially complete on Local Road No. L-7402-0 behind Henrys Bar & Restaurant in Cashelgarran. Works shall continue this week in Urlar on Local Road L-7308. Works on the N15 between Mullaghnaneane-Urlar to commence in January. Traffic management will be in operation which may cause some delays.

SLIGO STRANDHILL AREA:

Traffic management will continue to be in place on the N4 dual carriageway between Summerhill roundabout and Toberbride roundabout, Collooney from Monday 18th December to allow for maintenance works.   No delays are expected.

ENNISCRONE AREA:


Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 from Dromore West to the Mayo County Boundary. A stop/go system will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

Wall construction is continuing at the Cloona Graveyard, Enniscrone. Traffic management is in place. No delays expected.

Footpath repairs will be carried out on the R297, Carrowhubback, Enniscrone. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Traffic Calming and Line marking works will continue in Ballinacarrow for the week. Lane closures will be in place to facilitate the works so some minor delays should be expected.


MINOR WORKS:

Sligo Area:


A Scaffolding Licence has been granted until 6th January, 2018 for the corner of Church St/Harmony Hill.  No traffic delays are expected.

ENNISCRONE AREA:


Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 from Dromore West to the Mayo County Boundary. A stop/go system will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

Wall construction is continuing at the Cloona Graveyard, Enniscrone. Traffic management is in place. No delays expected.

Footpath repairs will be carried out on the R297, Carrowhubback, Enniscrone. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
