THE SEARCH for a missing Sligo man proved fruitless on the first day of New Year 2018.
Michael McGowan from Coney Island has not been seen now since last Friday.
The search will continue Tuesday, organisers have confirmed.
Said Barnes Murphy on Facebook last night: “The search will resume at 10am tomorrow morning (2nd January) from Harry's Bar Rosses Point.

Over 200 volunteers took part in the search yesterday.
The search is today concentrated in the Strandhill, Coney Island, Rosses Point and Drumcliffe, Ballisodare Bay and Streedagh areas.
All rocky outcrops extending right into Sligo Town at Hyde Bridge will be searched.
The search is coordinated by the Gardaí, Coast Guard, the RNLI, Civil Defence and Sligo Sub Aqua Club.
Searchers are taking advantage of the current low tide and will return to Harry’s Bar in Rosses Point this afternoon for a debriefing.
