Update on Sligo City Water-main Rehabilitation

Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract

The Contractors Ward & Burke Construction will return to work after the Christmas break on Wednesday 3rd January 18. During the remainder of that first week the following works will be ongoing

Pipe laying works will continue along west side of Quay Street from the public carpark area down towards the junction with Wine Street. Two way traffic is expected to be maintained here.

Preliminary investigative works for pipe laying (slit trenching and trial pit excavation) will be ongoing along Wine Street during night time hrs from Wed 3rd to Fri 5th Jan incl. Pipe laying proper along Wine Street is programmed to commence the following week (w/c Monday 8th January) generally between the Hours 7.00pm to 7.00am with a nightly road closure in place.

Pipe laying will recommence along Stephen St  (at west end in vicinity of junction with Markievicz Road) and proceed across the Bridge towards Lower Knox Street. (O Connell St)

Preliminary investigative works for pipe laying (slit trenching and trial pit excavation) will be ongoing along Fatima Avenue from Wed 3rd to Fri 5th Jan incl. Pipe laying proper along Fatima is programmed to commence the following week (w/c Monday 8th January) with a road closure in place.

Installation of boundary boxes in footpaths are programmed for completion from Wed 3rd to Fri 5th Jan incl  in the Holborn Hill/Holborn Street areas and along Cemetery Road

Traffic Management will be in place at all works locations with diversions clearly signed. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
