A number of GAA matches were called off around the country yesterday due to the cold weather.
Supporters were left annoyed after some of the games were called off just minutes before they were scheduled to throw-in with fans already in the grounds.
In the FBD League Sligo's game with Leitrim in Ballinamore and Mayo’s clash with Galway in Castlebar fell foul of the weather.
While in the Dr. McKenna Cup the meeting of Monaghan and Donegal in Clones was called of due to a frozen pitch.
The frozen pitch was the reason for the postponment with Connacht GAA then announcing that none of the estimated 2,000 people in the ground would be receive refunds for the €10 entrance fee they had paid in, all fans instead receiving a voucher to attend another FBD League match of their choice.
Connacht GAA chairman John Prenty said that this is a usual policy with postponed matches as it is difficult to give out refunds on the gate.
