Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Update

Pipelaying works will continue during the week along Wine St. between the Tesco Car Park entrance and Union St. Traffic exiting the carpark onto Wine Street will only be permitted to turn right with such traffic wishing to access the west side of the town (Inner Relief Road direction) having to divert around by Quay St, Lower Quay St, and Union St.

Incoming traffic flows to Wine St from the Union St/Inner Relief Road area will be maintained during daytime hours. The length of Wine St between the Tesco Car Park entrance and Union St may be subject to some full night time closures during the week (both directions from 7.00pm to 7.00am). These pipelaying works along Wine Street are expected to last a further two weeks.

Pipelaying works will continue across Hyde Bridge and into Lower Knox St. during the week. Normal one way traffic (east flowing) will be maintained along here. These works are expected to be substantially complete by the end of the week.

Pipelaying works will continue along Fatima Avenue during the week with a full road closure in place. The works (including road reinstatement) are programmed for completion by 9th February.

Works are planned for Connolly Street early next week. These works are localized but will require traffic light shuttle system in operation. Works will be fully complete by end of next week.

Pipe laying by directional drilling (trenchless) is expected to commence in Stephen St. Carpark during the week. Access to and from the Carpark will be maintained on a single lane using a flagman system. These works are expected to last two weeks.

Installation of boundary boxes and minor footpath works are expected to be ongoing during the week in the Fatima Avenue, Quay St, Lower Quay St, Holborn Hill and Connolly St. areas

Traffic Management will be in place at all works locations with diversions clearly signed.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
