Ballymote Fianna Fáil Councillor Keith Henry has raised questions with the HSE regarding the towns primary care centre. He tabled two questions at the February meeting of the HSE West Health Forum.
Cllr Henry who is Vice Chair of the HSE Forum Committee sought details on what services would be fully operational and from when. In their reply the HSE said that, "Public Health Nursing, Physiotheraphy, Occupational Theraphy, Speech & Language Theraphy, 2 GP Suites, Podiatry, Psychology and Dietics will be available in addition to the Community Mental Health team who will be located at the new site and two multi-disciplinary rooms for visiting clinicians.
Speaking at the meeting Cllr Henry "thanked the HSE for their response and was glad that the services are fully staffed and ready to go once the centre is opened". The HSE have said that the centre will be operational by mid March.
Cllr Henry asked about damage to a road leading to the Ballymote Community Park which was caused during construction of the centre. The HSE committed to working with Cllr Henry and the contractor about the concerns he raised.
